PAOK completes a great course that lasted through a decade, with continuous participations with finals and a total of five titles that came during that time. The last of them was the Greek Cup in 1999 that is the team's last great success up to this day. Beginning the season with Zvi Sherf in the bench, PAOK beats Olympiacos at the SEF 61-52 and secures participation in the Greek Cup Final Four.

Until the time came for the team to challenge the title, PAOK had already changed the head coach and the Final Four that was held at the SEF found the team led by Kostas Flevarakis. With Walter Berry been awarded the MVP title of the final four and captain Giorgos Balogiannis playing two amazing games, PAOK wins the Cup with two emphatic victories. The team crashes Aris by 33 points (83-50) in the semis and comfortably beats AEK (71-54), winning the trophy. Bad weather was not in insurmountable obstacle neither to the thousands of PAOK's fans who traveled to Athens and packed the SEF, nor for the team of PAOK that returned to Thessaloniki by train and was met with an apotheosis.
