PAOK BC mateco announces the agreement with the Icelandic guard Elvar Fridriksson who will compete with our team for the season 2023-24. Fridriksson is well-known to PAOK fans from last year’s games against Rytas Vilnius, which he played a major role in the Lithuanian’s team qualification to the «16» of BCL at PAOK expense. We welcome Elvar Fridriksson in our big PAOK family!

Elvar Mar Fridriksson was born in November 11th 1994, his height is 1.83 and he is competing as a play maker. He is coming from a family with a tradition in basketball, while his father was a member of the Men National team of Iceland but also a basketball coach. So, his occupation in basketball was unidirectional. He started playing basketball since he was young, starting off with Njarovik while he wasn’t even 18 years old and the next two seasons, he was considered on the top 5 of the Icelandics in their championship. Meanwhile, he moved to the States and competed for one year in the Long Island University and then played for three seasons in Barry university.

He has also played in: Denain Voltaire (2018), Njarovik (2018-19), Boras Basket (2019-20) which they won the Swedish Championship, Siauliai (2020-21) and also awarded as the MVP of the Lithuanian Championship, Antwerp (2021-22), Tortona (2022), Rytas Vilnius (2022-23).

He is a member of the Iceland's Men National team while he was awarded in 2021 and 2022 as the top Icelandic basketball player!
