BIOGRAPHY

Nikos Chougkaz was born in Athens, Greece, on October 4, 2000. Standing 2.08m tall, he plays at the forward positions.
He began playing basketball in the youth academy of Peristeri, although his first professional team was Panionios during the 2018–19 season.
In the summer of 2019, he moved to the United States to play college basketball at Northwestern State University, where he enjoyed an impressive freshman season, averaging 9.2 points, 7.2 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game.
After returning to Greece, he joined Ionikos Nikaias for the 2020–21 season, averaging 10.6 points and 6.3 rebounds in 24 games. His performances earned him the Greek Basket League's Best Young Player award.
In the summer of 2021, Chougkaz signed a four-year contract with Panathinaikos. He began the 2021–22 season on loan at Ionikos before joining Panathinaikos in February 2022, making his EuroLeague debut later that season. He then spent the next two seasons (2022–24) on loan at Peristeri.
During the 2024–25 season, he played in Spain for MoraBanc Andorra, averaging 9.5 points and 5.8 rebounds per game in the highly competitive Liga Endesa.
The 2025–26 season began with Cedevita Olimpija, where he appeared in seven ABA League games, averaging 8.9 points and 3.0 rebounds, while also playing in six EuroCup games, averaging 6.7 points and 5.7 rebounds per contest.
Chougkaz comes from a basketball family. His father, Chris Chougkaz, enjoyed a 15-year professional playing career and is now a coach. His mother, Sonia Dafkou, also played basketball and won three Greek League championships. His twin brother, Robert Chougkaz, has also played professionally in Greece.
An active member of the Greek Senior National Team, Chougkaz has also represented Greece at every youth national team level.
