Andrea Trinchieri

Andrea Trinchieri is the coach of PAOK BC for the next three years, taking over as Head Coach starting from the 2026–2027 season.
During the transitional period, he will serve as a consultant, playing an active role in organizing and structuring the team’s operations, laying the foundations for an ambitious and modern project ready to meet major challenges in Greece and across Europe.

Andrea Trinchieri was born on August 6, 1968, in Milan. He began his coaching career at the age of 20 as a member of the coaching staff of Olimpia Milano, where he worked for six years (1998–2004).

He then took over as head coach of Vanoli Cremona, remaining on the bench for three seasons (2004–2007). This was followed by a short stint at Juvecaserta Basket (2007), while during the 2008–09 season he coached Basket Veroli, where he achieved the first major success of his career. He won the Italian second division Cup (A2), earned the Coach of the Year award in the Italian A2 League, and secured his first opportunity to coach in the top-tier Lega Basket Serie A.

He coached Pallacanestro Cantù for four seasons (2009–2013), winning the Italian Super Cup (2012) and being named Italian League Coach of the Year twice (2010, 2011). During this period, he also made his debut as a head coach in the EuroLeague.

In 2014, he was named EuroCup Coach of the Year while coaching UNICS Kazan, with whom he also won the Russian Cup (2014).

Over the next four years (2014–2018), he coached Brose Bamberg, leading the club to three consecutive German League titles (2015–2017), one German Cup (2017), and one German Super Cup (2015).

He left Bamberg in February 2018 and, in November of the same year, took over KK Partizan, winning two Serbian Cups (2019, 2020) and one Adriatic League Super Cup (2019).

This was followed by a three-year spell (2020–2023) with FC Bayern Munich Basketball, where he won the German Cup twice (2021, 2023).

On December 30, 2023, he was appointed head coach of Žalgiris Kaunas, leading the Lithuanian club to two Lithuanian Cups (2024, 2025) and the Lithuanian League championship in 2025.

He has coached a total of 262 EuroLeague games with Cantù, Bamberg, Bayern, and Žalgiris.

His first direct involvement with Greek basketball came in 2013, when he was appointed head coach of the Greece men's national basketball team, a position he held for one year.
