PAOK mateco lost the home game against Olympiacos with 68-88, for the 9th round of Basket League.
Our team competed without Jalen Riley and despite that fact, PAOK had a good flow in the beginning of the game and also a boost from the fans who created a great atmosphere, but that wasn’t enough for the team to manage and stay competitive until the end, since the guests were dominant in the court.
At first, PAOK mateco had a great pulse while was on top with 9-7 and 12-9, as Yannick Franke was the “leader” in offense. After that, the visitors played a good defense and with some consecutive points 2-14, they leaded with 14-23 the game until the end of the first quarter.
The game continued with a double point difference between the teams and that lasted until the half of the second period. Nate Renfro was the one that reduced the points at 8 (25-33, 16’) but the guests closed the halftime with a 17 points difference (31-48) and controlled the game until the end.
In the third period, the image of the game hadn’t changed since Olympiacos created a 30 points difference (43-73). PAOK mateco had a better appearance in the last quarter which was the only one the team dominated in the partial score, reducing the final deference and mostly thinking about the following tough game on Tuesday against Unicaja Malaga.
