PAOK was punctual in his meeting with history, one more final as well as the next title that was placed in the club’s trophy case. Beginning the season with Dragan Sakota in the bench and later on with Sakis Laios as his replacement, PAOK qualified for the first Greek Cup Final Four, which was held in Lamia and won with characteristic ease. Easily overcoming the obstacle of Aris in the semi-final (80-63), PAOK completely dominated the final against Panionios. The team won 72-53, with Bane Prelevic being the undisputed MVP.
Playing for the Euroleague of that season, PAOK qualified for the Top-16, without however having the chance for any major gain, while also his Championship course was mediocre and was completed in a very poor fashion. PAOK once again moved to change the head coach during the playoffs, Vangelis Alexandris who took over tried, but was not able to turn the situation around and finished at the 4th position, behind Iraklis who finished 3rd and did not gain participation to next season’s Euroleague.
