
PAOK BC announces the agreement with Elijah MItrou-Long. The Canadian guard, who has Greek origin, will be signing a three year deal with our team.
Elijah Mitrou-Long was born in Mississauga of Ontario, Canada, on December 15, 1996, measures 1.85m. and is a guard. He’s the son of Jersey Long and Georgia Mitrou, who is Greek, while his brother Naz Mitrou-Long began his professional career in 2017 and has been playing for the NBA and the GLeague ever since (his latest team is Fort Wayne Mad Ants, an affiliate of the Indiana Pacers).
Elijah MItrou–Long began his career from John Carroll High School in Maryland and the beginning of his collegiate career took place at the Mount St Mary’s University.
As a freshman, in the 2105-16 season, he played a total of 30 games (23 of them as a starter), averaging 5.6 points, 2.5 reboundsand 2,2 assistsin 22.9 minutes per game. In the 2016-17 season, being a sophomore at Mount St.Mary’s, ο Mitrou-Long got to start in 35 of the 36 games he played, increasing his minutes to 34.4 per game. His other stats got also better as well, since he counted for 15 points, 5.2 rebounds, 4.4 assistsand 1.6 steals per game, while he shot 38.2% from the three point line.
Next season (2017-18) found him off courts, due to his transfer to the University of Texas, with which he got to play 36 games during the 2018-19 season, but starting only 9 of them. He averaged 5.6 points, 2.2 reboundsand 1.6 assistsin 17.9 minutes per game.
Last season (2019-20) Mitrou-Long attended a different University, playing for the UNLV (Nevada Las Vegas) and in 19 games (with an average of 31.5 m.p.g), he had 12.6 points, 3.2 rebounds, 3.4 assistsand 1.7 steals, with a 34.5% 3-points percentage and 74.5% in free throws.
