PAOK officially announces the extension of the agreement with Breein Tyree for one more season.The talented guard, who joined our team in early December 2025, quickly demonstrated his leadership qualities and played a crucial role in PAOK's successful campaign during the season that has just concluded. His presence on next season's roster significantly strengthens our backcourt and adds even more quality to our team.
Breein Tyree made his debut in a PAOK jersey on December 14, 2025, in our 97-87 road victory over Maroussi, finishing the game with 16 points.
He appeared in a total of 32 games across all competitions (Greek Basketball League, Greek Cup and FIBA Europe Cup), averaging 16.6 points, 2.9 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.2 steals per game, while shooting 78.5% from the free-throw line, 53.6% from two-point range and 35.4% from beyond the arc.
Born on January 13, 1998, in Metuchen, New Jersey, Breein Tyree stands 1.88m (6'2") tall and plays at the guard position.
He played collegiate basketball at Ole Miss, where he completed an outstanding four-year career (2016-2020). In 130 NCAA games, he averaged 13.8 points during his collegiate career, while in his senior season (2019-20), he posted career-best numbers of 19.7 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game in 31 appearances.
Tyree began his professional career in the NBA G League, spending two seasons with Raptors 905, the affiliate of the Toronto Raptors. During the summer of 2022, he played in the Dominican Republic for Indios de San Francisco de Macorís, averaging 20.2 points, 2.7 rebounds and 3.2 assists while leading his team to a 12-7 record.
The 2022-23 season marked his first experience in European basketball with Filou Oostende in Belgium. He scored 35 points in his debut, leading his team to the Super Cup title. He also helped Oostende capture the Belgian League championship, averaging 14.8 points, 2.0 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 33 league games. In nine Basketball Champions League appearances, he averaged 17.5 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2.9 assists.
He then moved to Italy for the 2023-24 season, joining Dinamo Sassari. In 24 Italian League games, he averaged 13.9 points, 2.3 rebounds and 2.7 assists, while in nine Basketball Champions League games he recorded averages of 16.1 points, 2.6 rebounds and 3.8 assists.
During the 2024-25 season, Tyree played in Turkey for Petkim Spor, facing PAOK in the Basketball Champions League Qualifiers. He scored 12 points in Petkim's 79-69 victory over PAOK, helping the Turkish side secure a place in the BCL Regular Season. In 15 BCL games, he averaged 15.0 points, 3.1 rebounds and 3.2 assists, while in 29 Turkish League appearances he posted averages of 14.0 points, 3.2 rebounds and 3.9 assists.
At the beginning of the 2025-26 season, he joined Igokea, where he played five ABA League games, averaging 16.0 points, 1.0 rebound and 2.6 assists. In five Basketball Champions League appearances with the Bosnian club, he averaged 17.4 points, 2.0 rebounds and 4.6 assists.
A few days ago, Breein Tyree obtained Albanian citizenship and is expected to make his debut for the Albanian National Team tonight in the away game against Kosovo, part of the first qualifying round for EuroBasket 2029.
