An important victory at the Alexandrio: Aris-PAOK: 58-62

PAOK bested Aris 58-62 for the 20th day of the betshop Basket League at the 'Alexandrio' and improved his record to 13-7. PAOK was leading the score almost throughout the game and got a deserving victory.

PAOK made a very good start in the game and with two threes by Phil Goss and Antonis Koniaris took the lead with 0-6, while a dunk by Johndre Jefferson made the score 5-14 at 6 and the first quarter closed with our team leading with 8 (11-19).

A three by Thodoris Zaras at the beginning of the second quarter, brought PAOK at +11 (11-22), before Aris got to close in at 4 (18-22) following a 7-0 streak. PAOK reacted and with a bucket and one by Vangelis Margaritis was leading 21-29 at 13', while the two teams went to the locker rooms with PAOK leading 31-40.

PAOK was having great difficulty in the third quarter, when the team scored a mere 6 points, which allowed Aris to lead for the first time in the game (45-44), before Vangelis Margaritis making the score 45-46.

PAOK made an impressive beginning in the fourth quarter and with William Hatcher leading the offense, ran a partial 1-12 and got to lead 46-58 at 35'. Aris closed in at 3 however at 38' (55-58) with two back to back threes by Vassilis Toliopoulos. Phil Goss made the score 55-59 with one of two free throws, but then 3 free throws by Boris Dallo (2/2) and Lefteris Bohoridis (1/2) made the score 58-59. William Hatcher made one of two free throws (58-60), but Lefteris Bohoridis made a turnover in the next attack of his team and Phil Goss with 2/2 free throws gave PAOK a four point lead (58-62) with 7.2'' on the clock. Antonis Koniaris blocked a shot by Vassilis Toliopoulos and the buzzer found PAOK to be the winner of the game (58-62).
