PAOK beat Lavrio 99-88 at the "PAOK Sports Arena" for the 21st day of the betshop Basket League and improved his winning record to 14-7. PAOK was excellent in the first half, when succeeded in building a +22 lead and despite the effort Lavrio made to come back in the game, got a comfortable victory and continues on the path that leads to the top four of the regular season.
PAOK got control of the game from the start, finding score through facilitation by Antonis Koniaris (5 assists in the first quarter) and Johndre Jefferson's ability to finish plays (10 points in the first quarter), hence leading 27-17.
In the second quarter, Lavrio tried to stay close to the score and was able to do it up until 14', when PAOK was leading by 9 (36-27), but at that point, PAOK ran a partial 11-0 and the margin was up to 20 (47-27). Finally, the two teams went to the locker rooms for the break with PAOK leading 59-38.
PAOK continued controlling the game in the third quarter, and after buckets scored by Darrius Garrett and Vangelis Margaritis, was leading 72-51 at 25'. Lavrio closed in at 76-59 at the end of the third quarter, taking advantage of points scored from the free throws line.
In the fourth quarter, Lavrio came even closer (8p., 87-79), at 35', but PAOK did not allow them to go for anything more, finding score with Thodoris Zaras and Antonis Koniaris, thus getting the 99-88 victory.
